Great tips!
Another important aspect is to be flexible.
When a person basically starts a career anew, it means he/she may have to make concessions about job titles, salary, relocation, etc. And this is not as easy as it may sound.

Thanks for your comment. Yes, it's good to be flexible, especially in the current financial climate - and it also helps if the person looking to start a new career is clear on what's important to them from their work, what is non-negotiable when it comes to change and what could be acceptable, and knows their strengths and talents.
